FAQ
Allergies and other dietary restrictions?
As a courtesy, we offer a variety of swoon-worthy baked goods with dietary & allergen options such as gluten-free, dairy-free, and occasionally vegan specials.
It's critical to note we are NOT a certified bakery facility for processing these items. Flours, eggs, dairy, nuts, and other ingredients CAN be cross-contaminated through shared equipment, tools & oil. People with severe or life-threatening allergies are strongly advised not to consume our products. If you have any dietary or allergen needs, please consume our products AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Hiring?
We’re always looking for smiling faces to help our customers and help bake wonderful treats. Please stop by the bakery and cafe to fill out an application, and bring your résumé or email us at info@lynettesbakerycafe.com.
Caring for your baked goods.
Cupcakes: We typically think cupcakes are good for about 2-3 days. Chocolate tends to last longer than vanilla based and if you have anything other than buttercream frosting please keep in the refrigerator. All cupcakes should be brought to room temp for about an hour for the best flavor & texture.
Cakes: Un-cut cakes can typically get a good 2-4 days (again with chocolate lasting longer than vanilla). Please keep cakes in the refrigerator until the day you're planning on serving. At that point give them enough time to come to room temp (roughly 2-4 hours depending on size and temp) for the best flavor & texture
What is your cancellation/no-show policy?
Wedding Cakes/Orders: Once the 50% deposit is made, the deposit is non-refundable. If the event is canceled, the deposit can be turned into a credit for another Lynette's custom cake/desserts in the next year following.
Bakery Cakes/Orders: We require a full week’s notice to cancel any cakes or large bakery orders.
No Show: We will call you to try and arrange an alternate pick-up date. If we cannot get a hold of you and your order remains unclaimed, your credit card may be charged.
We are aware that life is unpredictable, and in the case of an extenuating circumstance please call us and we will do our best to accommodate!
How far in advance do you book for weddings and other large special events?
Weddings can be booked up to a year in advance! We usually recommend booking at least 4-6 months before weddings, as the wedding season typically books up very quickly and we can only take so many events each weekend. For custom cakes for special events, 2 months is always a good amount of time, although if you have a last-minute request we will definitely try to make it work! For 1-tiered signature cakes, 1 week is the typical time requirement.
Can I get a sculpted or custom designed cake?
We're SO sorry, but we do not currently offer sculpted cakes in our bakery in Aberdeen. Our cake frostings are made with buttercream instead of rolled-out fondant, we do however make custom simple fondant toppers.
